Thyroid Diagnostics
In our diagnostic institute we provide the complete thyroid diagnostic range: all laboratory parameters, thyroid scintigraphy, thyroid sonography, possibly complemented by thyroid MRI/CT as well as ultrasound-guided thyroid puncture.
Our practice has initiated a highly successful partnership with the Institute of Cytopathology at Düsseldorf University, chaired by Prof. Dr. Alfred Böcking. Our close collaboration, based on scientific methods, guarantees a fast, reliable, and safe diagnosis of the punctured tissue obtained by us, with this diagnosis laying the foundation for an optimized therapy.
This close cooperation with the internationally renowned Institute of Cytopathology at Düsseldorf University provides our patients with diagnostics at an internationally recognized standard of quality and has the following advantages:
- • Early diagnosis: with cytopathology, a tumor diagnosis may be made up to
• 2 ½ years years earlier than with other diagnostic procedures such as
• pathology and histology.
• Patient-friendly: the fine-needle puncturing is controlled by ultrasound.
• Cost-efficient: costs are lower as compared to sample and tissue excisions.
- • Drug therapy:
• our institute will recommend the appropriate dosage and take care
• of control examinations and patient management.
• Non-drug therapy / radioiodine therapy:
• we have a close collaboration with nuclear medicine treatment centers,
• including the research facility in Jülich.
• Surgical therapy:
• we will refer the patient to the appropriate thyroid surgery center.
The patient may visit our institute for additional consultations, control examinations, or any questions he or she might have regarding the treatment.
